Evidence of apology: https://www.facebook.com/downwithabsolutes/posts/10102689441449653
Frankly, a great deal more people were offended by our Chief for Change, Mr. Murphy’s insidious tactic to “sell” his evidence-less package of ideas to “fix” 6 schools in Wilmington. Here’s a reminder of the DOE using a completely unsubstantiated comment to impugn the motives of teachers in helping kids in high needs schools:
So, the blogosphere erupted with righteous indignation about the insulting and arrogant tone and who does Murphy placate? The union head for the school districts in the Priority Schools districts? You see, the flyer truly is a problem, and the quick responsive apology proves that unequivocally.
This is additional evidence of just how political and calculating the process is. Mr. Murphy needs to apologize to the state. Yes, the state. He insulted teachers, students, taxpayers, and public officials. In addition, he wasted taxpayer dollars printing this rubbish on state taxpayer paper with state taxpayer toner.
I do appreciate Mike being the bigger person and accepting Mr. Murphy’s apology. However, accepting a private apology in two public forums, FaceBook and Twitter
could actually give DOE a tactical advantage of putting a key aspect of the priority schools discussion behind them and hinder other offended groups from criticizing DOE motives and tactics by responding that they have been forgiven by the “teachers”. Example, did all of the offended teachers accept the apology?
Perhaps more people could appreciate and accept just such an apology if he didn’t have such disdain for Delawarean’s to offer it PUBLICLY.
<yes, this post is an attempt to solicit said apology>
