Looks like Delaware’s quest for a “Dream Team” funded by Gates et.al. has turned into a PBS style beg-a-thon seeking to unleash “Common Core Ambassadors” upon us, like locusts I’m sure.

Subject: Fwd: An opportunity to share with the Math Coalition

FYI-Please see message below.

Hi Jamila,

My name is Posie Wood, Michael Watson asked that I reach out to you for help in recruiting amazing teachers for the “Delaware Dream Team,” a professional development opportunity sponsored by the DDOE in partnership with LearnZillion. We’re looking for top teachers who are eager to join a community and become Common Core ambassadors to the state and Michael thinks that you could help us reach such great teachers through the Math Coalition. I’m including a description of the opportunity and information about how to apply.

The application is due on November 11th, would it be possible to share this opportunity with the Math Coalition?

Apply to join the Delaware Dream Team

LearnZillion, in partnership with the Delaware Department of Education, will select 40 talented teachers from across the state to join a Delaware Dream Team.  We are looking for teachers at any grade-level and in any subject area who want to broaden their impact, learn from content experts, and challenge themselves in new and exciting ways. Selected teachers will work with LearnZillion’s Common Core coaches and Delaware colleagues in online PLC’s in the winter and spring of 2014 with the goal of creating original formative assessment tools and resources, which will be published and made available to all Delaware teachers on LearnZillion.com<http://learnzillion.com/>. Selected teachers will also attend “TeachFest,” a 2.5 day kick-off event in early January where the Dream Team will meet with coaches and colleagues, dive into the standards, and begin building a community of Delaware Common Core ambassadors. In addition to Common Core professional development, teachers will also receive a $500 stipend. All expenses related to attending TeachFest will also be covered.
