National Opt Out Movement Reaches Delaware! Our family says, “No More.” Children and Educators First
Based upon these findings, we are exercising the fundamental right to issue a parental directive to opt our children out of high-stakes testing in all forms and by all various names. We believe that Xxxxxxx’s educational progress can best be measured using his daily school work and regular classroom testing. It is our legal right to insist that Xxxxxxx’s proficiency in any content area bemeasured by instruments other than DCAS, SMARTer Balance, and any other potential high-stakes tests currently employed by our state and those that may replace the current models in thefuture. We are also cognizant that our child cannot be denied access to appropriate placement in apublic education setting for refusing to take the aforementioned tests.
