I don’t oppose the idea but I wonder what impact it would have on the district’s liability insurance? But for sure it wouldn’t exceed the cost of putting SRO in every school. But that leads to the question should we have SROs in every school or armed security? If someone wants to strike back a school which often is a student or former student they’ll just do their thing outside the building or target school buses! It sucks because at the end of the day it might be a no win situation, Then again doing something is better than doing nothing. There legislation floating in Dover to put exterior emergency doors in each ground level classrooms. I see a nightmare of kids running out and perhaps into another shooter. But yea perhaps some staff in the school being armed and specialized training .certification.
