Congratulations to our Superintendent elect! #netDE #CSD

Motion read into the record by John Young:

I believe that we are blessed to have an administrator in Christina who has dedicated almost his entire career to the students, teachers, staff and parents of Christina. He has worked for us in many and varied roles and has brought an earnest and sincere problem solving, collaborative approach to how he does his job. He has earned several promotions within our district and demonstrated a passionate, robust, meaningful and above all local approach to making his assigned areas both accountable and accessible. He has earned the respect of his coworkers, schools, fellow leaders and this board of education. It is time, in my opinion, for this administrator to take the next step in his career journey and assume day to day control and administration of our district and to fight for all of our children alongside our Board and to help craft the vision and future successes  of our district moving forward.

 

Therefore,

I hereby move that the CSD BOE appoint Dr. Freeman Williams to the position of Superintendent of Schools for Christina, effective July 1, 2012 pending successful contract negotiations which may commence in the immediate future upon approval of this motion.

Board approved 7-0.
